Locating mold when it is hidden is a hard thing to do. A dried-up water stain in your ceiling tile, or a dried-up water stain on your wall signifies water has been there long enough for there to be mold. Where there has been water damage, there will be mold. It only takes mold from 24 hours to 10 days to grow after the provision of growing conditions. It’s growth is just is not always visible to the human eye.
Mold likes to hide behind wallpaper or paneling, underneath paint, on the inside of ceiling tiles, the back of drywall, or the underside of carpets or carpet padding. Piping in walls or alongside windows can also become a source of mold, since they may leak water in which causes moisture and condensation to build up. Where there’s moisture there will within lie or begin a mold growth.
Mold growing inside buildings, becomes a hazard if not taken care of properly. The inhalation of mycotoxins can be very bad for your health or the health of any other building inhabitants. After a flood or major leak, mycotoxin levels are even higher once the building has dried out.
